EN 16114 was presented in Cyprus in an official conference organised by the Cyprus Standards and the Cyprus Institute of Certified Consultants, under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The conference took place at the CCCI headquarters in Nicosia and was attended by more than 40 participants representing well all stakeholders.
It was addressed by the Chairman of the CCCI, Mr. Phidias Pelides, the Director of Industry at the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Tourism, Mr. Yiannis Kontos, the Vice Chair of the Cyprus Institute of Certified Management Consultants, Mr. Akis Gregoriou and the Director General of the Cyprus Standards Organisation, Dr. Yiannis Karis.
The presentation on EN16114 was made by our ambassador in Cyprus, Louis M. Loizou CMC . In his presentation Mr. Loizou covered the background to the development of the standard, the process of the development, the rationale and contents / guidelines offered in the standard and of course the expected benefits. Reference was made to the Services Directive, CEN/ CENELEC Guide 17, CEN/TS 99001, CWT 16275 et al highlighting their relevance to the profession of Management Consulting and the provision of MC services.
The PowerPoint, presentation lasted thirty minutes and was very well received and appreciated by a very interested audience.
A Representative from the CyS, Ms. Aggeliki Loizou, made a presentations on ISO 10019 and the Director of Certification, Mr. Pambos Kammas, delivered an interesting presentation on the value of certification and how industry can contribute to the development of value adding standards.
A Q&A session followed. The conference closed with a cocktail networking meeting.
