EN16114 update

One year after the first presentation of the new European Standard EN16114 Management Consulting Services, our community of EN16114 Ambassadors across Europe has compiled an impressive variety and number of activities to promote the standard in their respective countries and regions.

Above all I want to thank you for the time and energy you all put into this initiative as the benefit for our industry can only be leveraged based on a widespread awareness of our standard. Along with my thanks I suggest we make use of the many concepts and ideas that already proved successful. Therefore we uploaded all the reports, concepts and presentations on the activities submitted so far. Please make use of these documents as some of them can serve as best practice and - with some regional adaptations and translations - transferred to your region.

Have a look at the updates on www.en16114.eu and you will find several new initiatives and events, such as a conference in Finland, a successful presentation in Cyprus, Romania, Poland and others. In Spain the event was followed by an impressive series of articles in local media. In Austria the Camber of Commerce issued the results of an eye-opening market research, that shows that there is still a long way ahead of us to not only convince our clients of the benefits of a common standard but most of all the management services providers.

Hence I invite you to submit your initiatives and activities and reports on your successes too.

Further developments:

ICMCI prepares the development to a global ISO standard.

The process will be as follows:
1. Prepare and send a proposal to ISO Technical Management Board. This step has already been initiated by ICMCI and UNI, the Italian Standards Body, which will be the Secretariat in this process.
2. Voting among ISO members for developing this standard.
3. Establish a Project Committee to develop the ISO standard.
4. Subject to approval, the publication of the ISO standard can be expected within 24 – 48 months.

Thank you for your support and with the best wishes for a successful year 2013,

kind regards

Ilse Ennsfellner
Chair of the Project Committee
