CMC-Global Institute (CMC-GI) is set to launch in early March. This ICMCI initiative is intended to provide a virtual 'home' for any management consultant who wishes to obtain the CMC designation, but has no IMC in his/her country.
The CMC-GI Board, led by chair Dwight Mihalicz, CMC, of Canada, also includes Calvert Markham (UK), Rob Wagenaar (Netherlands), Jeff Griffiths (Canada), Brian Ing (UK), Lynn Bennett (Canada), and Tamara Abdel-Jaber (Jordan).
With the help of Justin Balaski, MBA student from Royal Roads University in Canada, this group has been hard at work over the past several months determining how to approach management consultants in various parts of the world to determine their interest in attaining the CMC designation. A list of first tier countries to target has been developed, based on the World Bank rankings.
At the same time, an online membership application form, and website have been developed – and plans are in the works to provide concrete online professional development opportunities for these members.
The CMC-GI Board will encourage members in those countries with a critical mass to eventually form their own Institute of Management Consulting, conferring the CMC designation locally, and attain full membership status within ICMCI for their IMC.
