2016 Annual Conference – Saint Lucia, September 7th to 9th
The Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants (CICMC) hosts a Conference every year to provide a platform for its members to network and to be exposed to new insights and knowledge in the management consulting profession.
Our theme this year is
“Increasing Competitiveness for Export Led Growth: The role of the services sector in improving productivity and promoting innovation”.
The services sector in the Caribbean accounts for over half of the gross domestic product of the economies in the entire region; and constitute the single largest sector in most jurisdictions. Access to efficient services has therefore become crucial for the productivity and competitiveness of the entire regional economy. Management Consulting is one of these services sectors and has, over the years, become one of the leading sectors to encourage productivity and innovation.
The CICMC is a unique regional membership organisation comprising a network of individual management consultants, organised as Chapters/Interim Chapters in islands throughout the Caribbean, from Bahamas in the north to Trinidad and Tobago in the south and in Suriname in South America. Inaugurated in 2007, CICMC was admitted to full membership in the International Council of Management Consultants Institutes (ICMCI) in 2010. The CICMC fosters excellence and integrity in the management consulting profession in the Caribbean. The Institute administers and confers the certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation in the entire Caribbean.
The single most important event on CICMC’s annual calendar is the Annual Conference, which will be held in Saint Lucia from September 7th to 9th 2016.
The CICMC’s mission is to promote excellence and ethics in management consulting and to service clients according to global standards. The Institute and its 75+ members are dedicated to advancing the profession and delivering the benefits of those efforts to the client community. Members’ clients include both the public and private sectors, regional and international development and donor organisations, and NGOs. The World Bank, Governments in the Caribbean, UN, Commonwealth Secretariat, OECS, CARICOM, CDB, Sandals Resorts, Ansa McAl, are some of the clients that have been serviced by CICMC members.
The Conference will address the role of the services sector in export promotion in the Caribbean by reviewing the international experience on service sector expansion; examining the current challenges and discussing the potential benefits of services trade, particularly professional services in general, and management consulting in particular.
The Conference is expected to feature delegates from throughout the region, colleagues from the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), and from our sister Management Consulting Institutes in North America and Europe. We are also extending invitations to other regional organisations; professional services associations; and the Caribbean Network of Services Coalitions. It is envisaged that our speakers will be from international and regional organisations and also practitioners in the export of services.
