The CMC lapel pin is a badge of honor, a mark of distinction. It may be worn by any CMC member of an ICMCI Institute.  It is an excellent promotional tool for introducing both clients and other consultants to certification of management consultants, and to ICMCI institutes around the world. All CMC members are encouraged to display the pin as appropriate to the occasion. 

In addition, when members of an ICMCI institute have achieved certification, the CMC pin should be awarded with a degree of ceremony. Where possible, the pin should be presented at meetings attended by other members. This acknowledges the achievement publicly, and signals that certification is a status to be pursued.  

The CMC pin is not to be presented simply for membership in the Institute. It may not be worn by an individual who has not reached CMC status, has not maintained his CMC status, or has received her certification from an institute not accredited by ICMCI. 

ICMCI maintains an inventory of CMC pins, available to ICMCI institutes at US $5 each plus shipping. It is hoped that every new CMC will be awarded this pin upon achieving certification and will be encouraged by the ceremony associated with its manner of presentation, to wear it with pride. 

In addition, the Institute may want to make pins available to current members at a slight markup, giving the Institute a small profit.
